RTEMS has become fairly large :).

In comparison to building previous versions, building RTEMS-4.5 is slow, but that's the tradeoff to pay for simplier and safer configuration.

If using Cygwin, remember that Cygwin is emulating one OS ontop of another -- this necessarily must be significantly slower than using U*nix on the same hardware.
